Strange Rebel Frequency is an independent Los Angeles based band that plays stripped down, heartfelt, roots-based alternative rock music. They have been favorably compared to the very artists who influenced them such as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, and even Bruce Springsteen. Growing up in the shadow of so many luminary SoCal bands - from the Doors and Love to X, Concrete Blonde and Social Distortion to Jane’s Addiction and Kyuss - they hope to carry the torch for great West Coast rock music.
SRF have very strong songs, a unique identity and vision, and are a powerful and emotive live experience. LA area gigs occurred quite frequently in 2007 and 2008. In the summer of 2008, the band had the honor of opening for Alt Rock legend Peter Murphy. Their long-awaited new album, “Our Refining Days,” was released in July, 2010.
