THIS WEDNESDAY - HEADLINE - HIP SLINKY - - Support Flamenco Guitarist Byron Johnston
HIP SLINKY
Heralding from Guildford, Hipslinky have been developing their 'slightly off the beaten track' music for several years, scoring support slots with Feeder, Cooper Temple Clause, Vex Red, Athlete, Ocean Colour Scene, and with airplay on XFM, Scuzz TV, The Amp, Chart Show .
Think Jeff Buckley vocals crossed with The Who/The Marz Volta/U2, add occasional slide guitar and weird noises and you get that perfect Hip Slinky track.
With a critically acclaimed debut album and Top 40 singles already under their belt, the band are now recording their second album.

Strangers On A Train
“kick ass original music of every genre, every week”
A title from the classic Hitchcock film of 1951 has become known as one of the foremost live music nights this side of London.
Its all thanks to former record label manager Mr Nik Pearson, whose brainchild this concept is,
“Get great live acts together from the music scene, heck, from around the world and people will support the night”. If you build it they will come…
So we did, and two years on the night is now packed out and managed by Byron Johnston who hosts the nights/books the bands and plays a mean acoustic guitar till it splinters into a thousand flamenco’d pieces.
You can find us at Fahrenheit 55 on Milkhouse Gate just off Guildford High St in Surrey, and we are blasting our live music out every Wednesday Night from 8.30.
We don’t charge an entry fee, we just get great live acts down and let you enjoy the night and make it all worthwhile by buying the beers and keeping us in business!
We also pay our artsists, to make SURE we get the best live musicians coming to us, that’s our guarantee, “kick ass original music of every genre, every week”
So come down an visit us sometime, it beats staying in & watching Wheel of Fortune, hands down every time.
