STRANGE YOUNG THINGS has quickly gained momentum and notoriety in the Phoenix/Tempe music and fashion scenes. They are a refreshing combination of pure, soulful, good ‘ol rock, with a dynamic stage presence. Maybe it’s the chemistry and passion for what they’re doing that commands the audience to get up and move. Maybe it’s just the pure and honest songwriting being played by a group of talented guys. Perhaps it’s that they are just a little bit "off."
Having been together for less than a year, they have already won over audiences and even industry judges as they were nominated Runner-Up in the Alice Cooper’s Town Christmas Pudding Event (December 2005) where over 125 bands vied for the top spot to open up for Alice Cooper at his annual Christmas show. Strange Young Things have played shows in Los Angeles, opening for renowned L.A. group, Cattywompus, at their CD release party; Tucson; several SOUNDSTYLE events, and have been featured in many local publications. This passed February they were on the Rock N the Seas Royal Caribbean Cruise that included artists such as The Gin Blossoms, Authority Zero, and The Tubes.
STRANGE YOUNG THINGS is currently planning their spring and summer schedules that will include tracking their first full-length album, tentatively scheduled for release in late spring, early summer of this year. They also plan to tour the Southwestern United States in support of their new album.
