Strangle Valentino is 19 years old and has been disappointed by the industry twice already, and is now feeling pretty badass. So sign him, or he'll shoot you.
Stragle Valentino's imagination is pretty far reaching, and so are his influences, so he's not really sure how he would describe his style, other than as a total misch-masch of sounds and genres (you name it, and he wants to get it in his tunes).
Charlie Sloth - Guided Tour Of Camden
Strangle Valentino, is in love with music. He doesn't care where it's from, who made it, when they made it or how it was made- he just knows that he has a totally open mind and is always Cratedigging for...well...anything.
He knows full-well where the roots of this music lie...and is aware that the roots of DJing are, essentially, in the Jamaican SoundSystems of old. Hopefully he can bring some youthful enthusiasm into the frame, since all the DJs are getting old (hell, Rampling's retired and isn't Sasha about 40?), taking into account all of the old music that has influenced him, mashing it up, and bringing it kicking and screaming into the 21st Century via his bedroom(s) and the living room of his partner-in-crime, Casanova Chokehold.
They're just a pair of old-skool heads who are, ironically, too young to remember any of the 'scenes' from way back when. But, surely, in this day and age, that really doesn't matter, does it?
'music without prejudice...' - Norman Jay

3. Duke Ellington
if anyone else wants to write my name on any surface with any instrument and take a picture of/scan it, please do and it'll be put up here.
MySpace is (obviously) my primary source for getting music heard, and Strangle Valentino needs as much publicity as Strangle Valentino can possibly get. So, if you like my stuff please tell someone about me - and, when he's rich and famous, he'll buy you a house or something.
'tell your mother and your sister and your sister's friends...' - Justin Warfield
LOWDOWN OF THE TUNES (in descending chronological, and therefore qualitative, order):
Electrolysis Is Overrated 2.0 (February 2007): Some of you may remember this tune's predecessor. Those who do will notice that it's been totally overhauled and turned into a spacey-jazzy-funk fortified electro affair, complete with 'real' bass (albeit 5 looped bars worth) and Hendrix inspired guitar solo-fills. It's a pity that MySpace compresses all its sound into 96 kbps, because it means that this tune now lacks the energy is has in the original mp3. And yes, the title of the tune is now a reference to those geniuses The Roots. Play it loud. Real loud.
The Texas Chainsaw Mascara (May 2007): A Psychedelic, Grimey Electro-Punk-Funk affair with essence of twisted Northern Soul.
Guitars, Keys and Samples: Strangle Valentino; contains a sample of a News Report (of unknown origin), read by Huntley/Brinkley, about the Charles Whitman shootings. Don't be offended.
Dibaba - All We Need Emergency [Strangle Valentino's 'Neuf Danger' remix]: From the purest of Electro tunes to a Latino-fired, No Wave-Surfin', Camden-crawlin', Brixton-Boogalooing, Sega Mega Driven, Princely Phunk remix...which has a sample of Sartre in the bridge.
Los De Abajo - Resistencia [Strangle Valentino's 'Go-Go Gutierrez' remix] (September 2007): From a low-down Latino-Funk tune to a Portishead-cum-'There's A Riot...' era Family Stone, Jazz-tinged, blissed out Psyche-Funk tune. Hopefully, like the soundtrack to a Michael Mann film that actually had some substance. I've left all the Pianos, Guitars and Vocals from the original intact, but everything else is my doing, so I'm rather proud of it. .
Bass, Keyboards, Samples, Scratching & Programming: Strangle Valentino; Contains a sample lifted from ABC News
Alas! New Yorick (January 2008): Some of you may remember this from 18 months ago, although, now, it's been radically transformed into a hip-hopscotch-hotch-potch of all the sounds I heard when I was in New York in June 2006; Hip-Hop, Funk, Punk, Disco, Electro, Jazz of all sorts; unfamiliar, un-LDN, sirens; loud people, more hiphop, more sirens, and even louder people. I know it's been a long time coming, and it's actually my first SV tune for 8 months, but I hope you all recognise that it's the best four minutes I've ever conjoured.

Solid track. Thanks for letting me know about it. btw, kiwi radio is now kaputt unless the US laws change in the future. do have a blog though, where i will can stream track (maybe the new remix of yorick?)with a write-up of artist and graphics, etc. if you're interested, just give me an email (message me if you don't still have the kiwibeak address). I'd love to start getting some contemporary artists on the blog---I have just been swamped since the demise of the radio and working on developing kiwibeak.com more (probably well into '08). If you (or your listeners)know any great music/other websites that would be good for the g.public, please send them along so i can put them up on the directory (kiwibeak.com). The blog address (with music/arts category) is: kiwibeak.com/kiwiblogs

I only just got the internet. I'm living in Denmark Hill, between Peckham and Brixton. My rooms ok, it's very cold. I need to jazz it up! I'm living with lots of international students, I've met about a gazillion Russians, Germans, Swedes, French, Poles etc and one Scot lol. I get given food here so I don't have to cook, but I wasn't feeling last night's beef stew... Though the apple crumble was yum lol It's really nice here, I was expecting it to be rough but it's not!
