  • Bio

The closed down corner bar with the leaky roof where the band was born has been torn down long ago, The Strap-Ons from Norfolk VA started in late 1996 originally as the Pimps. The Strap-Ons are a punk rock 'n' roll band with high energy guitar and snotty vocals singing drinking songs. Traded from club to club like a couple cheap hussies. The band once drove 10 hours putting in two quarts of oil every 80 miles until the van busted a rod thru the shaft but they made it to the show. This is the perseverence that they decided to live by ever since. We got one foot out of the gutter. Thats why they call us cheap punk rockers from nofuck Vagina. They have released four CDs, and one LP in Europe of original material. And now out on Digitone Records the "Covered Ass" CD. They have done two U.S. tours with Joey Image, one of the original Misfits on Drums. The Strap-Ons are on 12 Vinyl Records (some released Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden). The band is featured on A Fistful of Rock N Roll Vol. 10, DRI Tribute, Joey Ramone Tribute, and The International Punk Rock Box Set. Quoting vocalist idle Edsel from an interview " Yeah like in the puddles of beer and glass you start to see that the world is just a bunch of information transfers and sure we pick up some signal i guess from the sun or something that tells us to act like humans but most of the old people cant pick up the signal and act how they were supposed to act back then and The Candy Snatchers are from our town and alot of our best shows are opening for them. Well Sal from Electric Frankenstein introduced us to Joey Image the original Misfit drummer when we found out that ours couldnt make the tour. Well we were like; is this guy gonna be all huddled in the back of the van under some blankets banging up his arm and shit but it turned out like he was clean and drove us valiantly on some long drives and told us good jokes the whole time. Well Staci Bassie was melissas chick and mel has been with the band since we were the pimps. So well I don't know how kate learned to play like that and I am down with girlie rock. Well we were kinda drunk when we met blee and as far as I heard jerry was breathin down his final cigarette and had just left a for profit band when blee called. So weve been happily traded from club to club like a couple of cheap hussies ever since ." The first CD is "Geeking Dream" which six labels pitched in on including Long Beach Records, Rapid Pulse, and Volxdrodge from Germany. The second album is "$4 WHORE" on Naked Jain Records in Palm Springs CA. Valiand Death Records pressed the third CD "Punk on Punk Crime" and they also made a live CD. The band made a vynle LP Called "dirty people" on Zurich Chainsaw Massacre Records. The first three CDs are original material and the fourth is all covers called "Covered Ass" on Digitone Records this year. There is also a "Covered Ass II" Later practice Places had rats andbeer bottle corners where you were allowed to throw your bottle against the wall and watch it creshendo down into the pile of broken glass idle called his new sculpture. idle has been playing bass with The Candy Snatchers since 2006 and completed his book "Christ: The Dark Years", kate plays in Nancy and The Knockers, Billy plays in the Bottle Babies.
