Definition: Our name Straw House originates from a term that P.T. Barnum started in the 19th century to mean sold-out or oversold performance. In other words a turn-away crowd. Barnum never wanted to deprive an audience member a ticket, so he would have the working men bring in bales of hay or straw to add extra seating for the performance.
The term is still used today in the circus-world when they have a SRO (Standing Room Only) crowd.
Straw House Entertainment (SHE) has been formed as a one-stop artist friendly entertainment solution, specialized in generating and maximizing revenue streams through current and future technologies.
Straw House Entertainment will offer artists a one-stop solution or partial solution dependent on the needs of the artists. As a one-stop solution SHE will include a record label, distributor (music, video & film), artist management, live lifestyle events, television production, publishing, booking agency, merchandise company, music licensing, marketing and advertising all working under the Straw House umbrella.
Our objective is generating revenue, and selling music and entertainment in current and future mediums through one-to-one marketing and eventually artist to fan directly, including: CD’s & DVD’s, ringtones, concert tickets, television programming, merchandise, books, licensing music to TV and movies, website and fan club memberships, downloads & video on demand (VOD). Straw House Entertainment knows that artists can be viewed by their gross revenue rather than CD units sold.
Straw House Entertainment will offer individual artists, artist friendly partnerships that will enable a win-win through overall music sales including television programming, CD & DVD sales, concert sales, music licensing, merchandising, memberships, etc. fully exploiting the artists assets through every current medium available and those not yet developed.
Straw House Entertainment will offer consumers high quality professional products through traditional, digital and future avenues of distribution as well as bringing the artist and fan one step closer through membership websites, performances and specialty products the artist will develop for consumers.
Straw House Entertainment can provide their services including distribution, live event production, and music and television productions to investors through an individual or one-off return-on-investment opportunity. These projects will exist as separate entities, while enjoying the security of the umbrella, strategic relationships, beneficial knowledge and proficient talent provided by the holding company, Straw House Entertainment. These said projects will only exist as long the project is viable and enduring.

Straw House Entertainment (SHE) is a newly-formed LLC providing a high level of expertise in the music and entertainment industry. Straw House is not interested in competing with Sony Music, WEA, EMI or Universal, but rather as an alternative to the majors. On developing new artists, Straw House could be seen as the AAA minor league affiliate of the aforementioned companies. Depending on the objective of the artists, they can either be bumped up to a larger major label or remain in an independent one-stop structure. Straw House will also become an outlet for established and Heritage Acts.
