Strayboys combines the mystic music of Billy Strayhorn (1915-1967) with original compositions by Nils Janson.-------------------------------------------------------------
The band was formed in 2006 to give an exclusive concert for the Duke Ellington Society of Sweden, but lived on because of the great chemistry that occurred in the band.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strayboys has since it formed given concerts at Glenn Miller Café, Karlstad Jazz and the Duke Ellington Society. The pictures and the little piece of video is from Glenn Miller Café. The songs you are listening to are all recorded at rehersals with a Mini Disc. Strayboys is though planning to make a record.

Briefly about the members:

Nils Janson, trumpet. Nils have during 2006 and 2007 been touring Europe with Swedish rock band Mando Diao. Besides of that Nils is mainly a freelance jazz player and is considerred as one of the most interesting young soloists on the scene.

Klas Lindqvist, alto sax, is a highly experienced player and a master of his instrument. Klas is also working as a composer and arranger in jazz.

Carl Bagge, piano, is seen in many musical formats, mostly jazz groups. He has toured through continents and is also used as a string arranger by artists like Robyn, Andreas Kleerup, Jessica Folcker, to name a few.

Kenji Rabson, double bass, moved to Stockholm from New York in 2005 where he had been working as a bassplayer for 10 years. He made a real asset to the Swedish scene straight from the start.

Moussa Fadera, drums, keeps busy playing with various groups in Sweden. You can´t really escape him.
