Sounds Like
Stray Dogma [strey dawg-muh] - noun: a rocky, jazzy, folky melange with a tinge of jam band wrapped in a danceable chocolate metaphor.
Stray Dogma was founded by songwriter/musicians Susan Brakeall and Mark Pearson. The big break came in 2004, when Stray Dogma became a member of the 12 Records Indie family of artists. Guided by 12 Records savvy and industry experience, Stray Dogma released their debut album 'Scratch Recording' in early 2005. CHECK OUT Stray Dogma's 2007 release 'Change'.
The group performs frequently at various venues ranging from small pubs/yoga studios to large auditoriums. Live performances are comprised of original tunes and uniquely arranged covers. Depending on the venue, the group varies from a duo to a full band with bass, set drums, sax/flute, and groovy percussion.
Although Stray Dogma never limits itself to any particular genre of music, their tunes would probably be described as an acoustic mixture of folk, rock, jazz and pop (see "sounds like"). Similar artists/styles include Sarah McLachlan, Dave Matthews, David Crosby, Norah Jones
Stray Dogma songs explores life, death, spirit, love, heartbreak, greed, ambition, the connections we all share, and the questions we all face.
