His tenderly depicted slice-of-life look at a local widow trying to make ends meet with odd jobs like dressing as a clown, holding a sign at the curb of a housing development, or taking tickets at a showroom door while pleasantly visiting with the people streaming into the showroom. She is also trying to cope with the loss of her lifelong companion and husband. It is heartbreaking, and a bit scary to think how often this happens to older people, unprepared for staying alive beyond their projections. Ordaz rightfully, received an honorable mention from the judges."
