About me:
Disillusioned and uninspired by the mainstream music industry, three music lovers shared a few beers and a vision. We knew that good music was out there; we heard it every night in the local clubs of New York City. And yet, the airwaves are void of it.
We also knew that the disillusion we felt wasn't unique to us. Artists and music lovers everywhere were voicing the same agonizing discontent. It was in that same collective voice that Streak Music LLC was born.
At the end of 2004, Dwight Schneider founded Streak Music with the vision of a music revolution. More and more, the music industry is being governed by image, not talent. From the factory-churned bubble-gum pop dominated the radio airwaves, it was plainly obvious. In fact, more and more artists are going independent. Wanting to maintain artistic autonomy and control of their music career, artists are becoming better educated about the limitations of signing with major record labels.
Like jazz at the turn of the 20th century and rock & roll in the mid-60's, it's time that artists (as opposed to corporate label executives) once again dictate the evolution of music for the 21st century. And this is just the beginning.
