About Stream Of Consciousness (WHOLE ALBUM ONLINE!)
Stream Of Consciousness (SOC) ist das Vor- und jetzige Nebenprojekt von Taste Of Tears (TOT) Sänger Ivan Strimer. Während TOT technischen Death Metal mit Power Metal Einschlag bietet, ist SOC im Progressive Rock/Metal verwurzelt, blickt aber ziemlich weit über den Genre-Tellerrand.
SOC wurde Ende 2002 von Sänger und Gitarrist Ivan Strimer mit dem Ziel gegründet, anspruchsvolle, abwechslungsreiche Musik zu erschaffen und verschiedene Stilarten miteinander zu verbinden. Auf der Suche nach den geeigneten Leuten wurde in den befreundeten Death Metallern von TOT, die erforderlichen, technisch versierten Musiker gefunden. Bald waren die ersten Ideen vorhanden, und man machte sich daran alles auszuarbeiten und zu verfeinern. 2005 wurden im Homestudio von TOT Bassist Gion Alig die ersten Takes eingespielt. Weil SOC von Anfang an als Projekt gedacht waren, zogen sich die Aufnahmen lange hin. Ein Grund war aber auch, dass Ivan plötzlich vom Roadie zum Sänger von TOT befördert wurde.
2008 fällt aber die Entscheidung die Aufnahmen nicht verstauben zu lassen, und die Scheibe wird von Dave Muscheidt in den Megapeng Studios (u.a. Zatokrev) in Basel gemixt und gemastert. Ebenfalls zeigen Quam Libet Records Interesse und unterstützen Ivan und SOC.
Mit musikalischen Einflüssen die von Power- über Death- bis hin zu Progressive Metal reichen, aber auch ausserhalb der Metal & Rock-Szene zu finden sind, werden auf „Journey through a world of thoughts“ 8 eigenständige Songs präsentiert. Es wird gerockt, geproggt, gejazzt, geschnulzt, gebeatboxed, gecomputerdrummed und allgemein ge-unherkömmlich-musiziert!
Textlich werden, basierend auf Zitaten von Schriftstellern wie Nietzsche, Shakespeare, Hugo oder Hawthorne, einige Gesichtspunkte der menschlichen Psyche der wissenschaftlichen Seite des Seins gegenübergestellt.
Ein Novum im Metal stellt das Singen auf Romanisch (sehr alte Neolateinische Sprache und 4. Landessprache der Schweiz) dar, obwohl momentan nur auf einem Track zu hören.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stream Of Consciousness is a band deriving from Chur, Switzerland.
Founded in 2002 by gutarist and singer Ivan, he soon found the accurate open-minded musicians with the technical skills in the members of the death metal band Taste Of Tears, which he is also a member of now.
Stream Of Consciousness have just recorded their first album, a conceptual work called “Journey through a world of thoughts".
The idea behind S-O-C is to create music without stylistic borders, just compose music with a wide range of influences.

Both the new and the old clash and unite musically and lyrically in the music of Stream Of Consciousness. Includes a lyric in the indigenous Swiss language Rhaeto-Romansh.
