A trio of talented individuals from various walks of life. The Street Hop Legendz, formed fall of 2006 consists of .. Tha eLement -'tha CaliSupastar'.. (CA), .. Direct - 'Gettin Atcha' .. (WA) and .. J-Keyz- 'the Foundation' .. (WA). They came up with the group name after a long though process: Hip Hop with a slight street edge, not gangsta - and they all feel they are 'legendz' in their own minds. A big claim for an underground group, but their music backs the claim 100%. They have compiled numerous mixtape tracks individually and collectively, and plan to release the currently untitled mixtape sometime in early 2007. This will be their breakout year as far as any group performances and demo shopping. "I feel we have what it takes to make it in the game, mainstream or indie," says tha eLement, "we do 99% of the beats in house, we come together and decide on the direction of all tracks, record our own cuts...so the only thing a label can do for us is take our name and music further than we may be able to online and in the streets." With that being said, its not hard to tell why they dont mind the indie approach to the rap industry. They all currently stay in the Northwest, where its really tough to break rap acts, due to the lack of cohesiveness on the underground scene. They have networked with a lot of talented people as far as a few beats, graphic design, other artist (singers and rappers) and would like to be able to lead the northwest to the promise land. They represent the westside to the fullest, but keep most of there music general enough for any person on any coast or any country to feel them. They can make you dance, or they can make you think, clown around or shed light on social injustices. With such a well rounded set of artist under one roof, it wont be long until their music is felt on a global level. They are set to shoot their first video early 07 with the help of A. Palmer who shot tha eLement's first video, 'Cali', which gained over 20,000 plays in just under 3 months. Be on the look out for their mixtape, video, and album early '07. With such passion and dedication towards changing what you hear on the radio, the rap game may have no choice in the matter when it comes to stopping this group.
