Apr 13 2008 7:59 AMGrabbed me right from the start. Keanu is the first thing you see and it shows that he can act in a roll so unlike him. It is not pretty to see at times but it sure fits with the roll he plays. I loved most of the casting. Twists and turns were a surprise to me and unlike the reviewer I have read about the movie, I thought that it was not "predicable" and "same stuff we have seen before". Love it that Keanu actually studied Spanish in school and uses it in the film. I as a Keanu fan loves seeing him go through a the varied stages of emotions. He can be Tough and focused, vulnerable and fragile, his sadness for those he lost and then the satisfaction of the use of brutality to those he feels do not deserve justice as it is in the legal system. He is the law,jury and judge. Amazing performances by Chris and Keanu as they partner together. Ludlow has a strong sense to protect everyone but risks his life repeatedly in this movie. All the weapons training that Keanu and Chris went though, shows. Very "right on" target. Keanu shows off some amazing heft in the weight he put on and it helps tremendously in this roll. Made it very believable as he get the bad guys and in how they treat him. I will write my review soon as I find out that all the fans and my friends have seen it. Love it and will go see it again before I review it fully. I was distracted and missed some of it the first time. Congrats to all involved. |

I couldnt make up my mind who held Hugh or Forrest's backs but in the end - everything came clear.Went last night - it was fucking intense. YOU'VE got to see this movie!! Funny thing about Hollywood movies, they are ALWAYS half truth , or damn near close to the real deal. |
