"Broadway is the future of hip hop." -- MTV hip hop choreographer Shane Sparks
THE MUSIC is not like any musical you've heard...it takes the most current pop music styles and shapes them into modern musical drama, creating a whole new sound for the musical stage, and mixing modern hip hop and pop production techniques with samples from recordings made during the civil rights movement.
THE LYRICS are about struggle, hope, ambition, anger, injustice, love, and the promise of a new generation. They are heavily influenced by soul, R&B, blues, and especially hip hop.
THE STORY is about inner-city teenagers coming together to take back their community center from the drug dealers who now control the neighborhood. In the process, they bring hope to their community and learn how powerful they are when they stand together.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
