STRIKE A CHORD CONCERTS FOR CHARITY supports nonprofit organizations by raising money and awareness through benefit concerts. Since 2007, ten concerts have raised more than $16,000 for: the Gulf 2 Fund, which sends weekly care packages to local troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, School on Wheels (sowma.org), which provides educational resources and advocacy for children and their families experiencing homelessness, The Home for Little Wanderers (thehome.org), the nation's oldest child and family service agency, and Art beCause Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating the environmental causes of the disease. More than 50 Boston-area musicians have generously offered their time and talent to make these fundraisers possible.
Looking ahead, Strike a Chord will hold its second concert for The Home for Little Wanderers at Club Passim on Sunday, Aug. 29, from 7-10 p.m. Two concerts are also being planned for School on Wheels and for Rosie's Place.

Hey Ruthann, i would be honored to be a part of your great organization! Thanks for asking my friend! I also perform childrens music/concerts as well! I am a preschool music teacher by day. How do you find the time for all that you do? Peace my friend, C.
Hello Ruthann, aka: the driving force who brings these Strike a Chord events to life. Thank you for all the hard work you've done and continue to do; raising money for these noble causes, bringing people together in a spirit of community, and celebrating the music of local artists at the same time. You're an inspiration. Cheers! Joe
"Last summer, Strike a Chord Concerts for Charity organized an amazing group of talented musicians for our first School on Wheels concert fundraiser. It was a fantastic event! The concert helped us raise funds and awareness about our nonprofit organization that provides academic stability for children impacted by homelessness. The musicians donated their time and their talents to bring the community together to help us shrink the gaps in education for children in our own backyard, living in family shelters and motels. We are very excited that “Strike a Chord for Charity” musicians will be performing at our five-year anniversary celebration this fall."
