Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Hey thanks for the info about St. Judes I, much appreciated. Yes, good band. Hope your shows the past weekend went well. Love 'SR' more with each listen. Wish you hadn't recorded 'If I don't belong' next to the M80 though. J.
I just got my copy of your new album in the mail. I'm listening to it right now and it's wonderful. Thank you so much for the note inside, it made my day. :)
Hey good gig on Sunday @ The Electric Circus, just a bit short! (How was the first band called? Didn't catch their name, due to the singer's accent) Love Seven Roads too. J.
So Strike The Colours is a lovely endless rainbow which always regenerates by itself ?!!! I've just spent a great time today discovering your universe. I wish you a great album lauch. Sincere encouragements.
