Strike X is a band from the 'Copper Triangle' area.
They were originally brought together to form a band when the high school music teacher decided to get the best musicians from the year 10 classes, but later realised that they needed a guitarist, so they looked into the year 9 classes aswell, and then one of the singers pulled out, so they found Elly, from year 11.
They Began practising every Tuesday lunchtime in the music room, but this progressed into almost every day.
Strike X began playing simple cover songs, for example: Blur - Song 2 and Avril Lavigne - Skater Boi. Their repitoir eventually grew to 8 cover songs, which they performed at the local 'Kadina Show', and later at a meeting for all the important principals and people involved with the schools from all over the local area, which was held at Wallaroo.
The next day they were offered a gig at a place called 'Burra'. That's when they decided that they actually needed a name, as they were still being called the year 9, 10 and 11 school band. 2 Days before the gig at 'Burra', they came up with the name Strike X, as it was better than all the other names they had written on the white board, including: 'Sonic' and 'Where the @&$% is my PICK?!'.
Their gig at 'Burra' went very well, with few mistakes.
They have now also performed at the 'K.M.H.S. Performing Arts Showcase', the 'K.M.H.S. Social', and The Kernwewk Players night.
At the social they performed their first original song called 'I Hope You Know (This Won't Help You)', and at the Kernewek Players night they also performed their other 2 original songs called 'Friends Forever' and 'Please Don't Wake Me'.
All of their performances went very well, with only 1 problem when Sam broke a guitar string at the 'Kadina Show'.
Now Strike X are writing many original songs and are still getting many gigs and perfomances. Also their repetoir has grown to over 30 songs, including originals.
Strike X has now become a power trio after removing Elly From the band.
