Strings of Ares’ Temple to Mars album is a gateway to the Gods, the cosmos and beyond.

Lyrically, it is a dedication to the ancient Roman god of war, Mars. These songs are inspired by the history and myths of ancient Rome and Greece; empires that were bound by their universal worship of the earth, the sky, the stars, the planets, and war.

Since the beginning of time man has left behind a trail of blood in his quest for power and domination. Early man created the myths of the gods in his image to explain events in nature and in the skies that were unexplainable such as eclipses, floods, famine, volcanoes, comets, the seasons, and the cycles of life and death. Ancient myths carry forward the violence and destruction that shaped the earth and our early solar system and it is no coincidence that the masters of early man made the connection between sacrifice and appeasing the wrath of the gods to control the people.

The emperors of man were the representation of gods on earth, a bloodline linking them to the stars. Throughout history empires have enslaved the conquered and slaughtered the defiant. The god of war thrives on blood and this theme is carried throughout the album. Songs of war, revolution, conquer, death and sacrifice. Our planet has never known a time without war and until man’s need to repeat the destruction of the past subsides there will be no peace.

It is a continuation of the historical writing efforts of Longo/Brook-Allred (which can & will be heard in concert performances on such songs as "Temple to Mars", "Devoured By The Flames of Fury" & "Far From The Sun"); and yet it is absolutely more… an extension on that journey, with the addition of two monster composers, Clint & Shane!
