His bass mentors include Ray Brown, Charles Mingus, Victor Wooten, Oteil Burbridge, and Mike Bub. Projects he has been involved with covered musical genres spanning from blues, funk, and jazz fusion to bluegrass.

Dave (the big guy) Frye, 6' 5" 320lbs., calls Avon, Indiana home. He has been playing the 5-string banjo for 30 plus years and has been playing professionally since the age of 12. Dave has played on stage with talents such as Nashville recording artist Alison Krauss, and Nashville studio artist Andrea Zonn along with numerous others. Dave's mentors and influences include Bela Fleck, Tony Trishka, Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe, and John Hickman. Dave likes to play everything from traditional bluegrass to the more modern Newgrass, Jamgrass, and New Acoustical music.

Casey Keiner calls Noblesville, IN home. He has played multiple acoustic instruments for over twelve years. Casey enjoys experimenting with different themes and idioms of various acoustic genres. Casey likes to mix genres together creating his own unique style. Casey's main influences include Drew Emmit, Ronnie McCoury, Sam Bush, David "Dawg" Grisman, Frank Zappa, and Jerry Garcia.

Chris Keiner is a resident of Indianapolis, IN. Chris has played the guitar for over 15 years and has played in various bands for the past eight. Chris pursues numerous styles in his guitar playing, including traditional bluegrass, jazz, rock, blues, and old time finger-picking styles. Chris's main guitar influences include Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Tony Rice, Jerry Garcia, and Trey Anastasio. He also particularly enjoys the modal jazz of Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk.

The Stringtown Pickers have been playing together in one form or another for over 7 years. From a humble begining playing in the corner of a dark bar, to playing in front of a thousand plus fans at Hookahville, the Pickers have been around and are comfortable in front of any crowd. The Stringtown Pickers combine many influences that appeal to a wide range of audiences. They are equally at home playing to bar crowds, festivals, and private parties. Support the Indianapolis songwriter community!

Hello there! If I've already been in touch on this please bear with me but I'm trying to get the word out about www. indianapolissongwriterscafe. com

I'm working to create a place that ties together all the people, places & events that are relevant for an Indianapolis songwriter or a fan of this kind of music. There's also a community calendar (that needs a lot of dates added to it) that will soon be a one-stop shop for any songwriterish shows going on around Indy.

Please visit the site and if you've got a moment please add www. myspace. com/indianapolissongwriterscafe to your friends list.

If you'd really like to help spread the word I'd be grateful as can be if you copied the little piece of code from either the ISC website or myspace page to display the banner on your page. Just drop me a line if you'd like to but aren't sure how.
