212 gigs since November 2002 and counting... ...Next Griffin Park Jazz Club night on Monday 10th March 2008! - Bearstock 3 was an extraordinary success - read all about it in the blog section!

What’s New at the Hive!

The Hive has recently been refurbished and is now a multi-function venue catering for many different events including the Griffin Park Learning Zone.
The venue is also available for hire for special events. Follow this link for more information about the Hive.

Due to these recent changes, the venue has been renamed "The Hive" and as it is used by the Learning Zone during the day as well as recent changes in the law, it is now strictly a non-smoking zone, so please don’t smoke inside unless you are on fire!

But of course you can always pop outside if you really can’t resist lighting up...

The recent changes also mean that we are no longer able to accommodate fully amplified bands and hence we are restricted to acoustic type gigs and our regular Jazz nights, expertly organised by Bryan.

About The Hive/Stripes...

The Hive is situated at Griffin Park, Brentford Football Club in West London.
We have been putting on gigs since November 2002. Click here to see who has performed at the Hive in the past.

We have been hugely privileged to have many top artists as well as up-and-coming local indie bands perform at the venue for us.
You can find a review of a great gig in 2005 featuring the Mystery Jets, Jamie T, and Larrikin Love at Drowned In Sound.
As a result we have developed a hugely popular music venue in a part of London which is starved of live music - London’s best live music venue west of the North Circular, no question.

We have a capacity of 180, and normally charge £5 admission, payable on the door. On ’special occasions’ tickets can be purchased in advance. Gigs are normally on a Friday and Saturday, with occasional exceptions. Jazz nights are held on the first Monday of every month. For £5 admission gigs, we also offer £3 admission to students on production of a valid NUS card, to unemployed people on production of a valid ES40 card, and FREE admission to under-16s accompanied by an adult. Similar discounts apply for higher-priced gigs - see specific details, below.

Bees United logo

The gigs are all benefits for Bees United, a fans’ organisation dedicated to securing the future of Brentford FC. Bees United now owns Brentford FC, making it a truly community focused club and therefore works closely together with the Club.
The folks organising the gigs are all working on a voluntary basis and won’t pocket any of the profits themselves. Artists do get paid though, of course!

We hope to see you at a gig in the future!

If you wish to be placed on our mailing list, or you or anyone you know is interested in playing at the Hive, please get in touch via the contact page.

Gigs

For all gigs admission is £5 (£3 concessions), payable on the door. Doors open at 7:45pm, and the concerts are normally set to start at 8:30 and will finish at 11:00, unless otherwise stated. There are no age restrictions at the Hive - all ages emphatically welcome, but please be aware that:

under-16s must be accompanied by an adult

if you look like you might not be 18 you’ll need to produce ID if you want to buy alcohol

There are no concessions at Griffin Park Jazz Club gigs.

everyone is asked to leave the venue quietly as we are situated in a residential area!

How to find the Hive

The Hive is located under the Main Stand at Brentford Football Club, Braemar Road, Brentford, TW8 0NT. Access is via the main entrance to the ground - the Hive is then directly in front of you.

The Hive is located in a residential area, but it is almost always possible to find street parking within a few minutes’ walk of the venue. We do not have a car park available other than for artists.

The nearest tube stations are South Ealing (Piccadilly Line) and Gunnersbury (District Line). Each is about 15 minutes’ walk from the Hive. From South Ealing, you can also take the 65 bus directly to the Hive (5 minutes) or the 235 / 237 from Gunnersbury (10 minutes).

The nearest railway station is Brentford (20 minutes from Waterloo). It is a five-minute walk from the station to the Hive.

We are also conveniently located for Heathrow Airport!

And here we’ve got a map of the area for you:

You can use the handy Journey Planner from Transport for London to find your fastest route to the Hive: http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk

If you wish to be kept informed about Hive/Stripes gigs...

...please add yourself as a friend to get regular event invites, or bookmark this page and visit us regularly!

If you wish to play at the Hive...

...please add yourself as a friend and we’ll get around to checking out your music ASAP! Please note that until further notice we can only book jazz, folk, country and other acoustic acts due to lack of sound proofing. And yes, we know – it’s a bummer!
