Brian “ 2M “ McMaster- drummer/ vocals
A Georgia Peach raised in Dunwoody, Brian has lived in the Atlanta/ Marietta area for over 35 years. He began playing drums at 9 and has been involved with several bands including Lobsters and Justus. Brian’s style comes from the many influences of bands such as: Zeplin, Who, Skynard, and Rush. His beautiful wife of 23 years and 2 sons make life good and his addition to STRONGHOLD makes him feel like the future is just around the corner. Music has always been a constant companion for Brian. He hopes to touch and influence many lives on our musical journey
Sean “ Thumper McNasty ” McMaster –bass Raised in the suburban metropolis of Georgia known as East Cobb, Thumper was introduced to music at an early age. As a small child he traveled with his father to band practice and eventually found his true calling when introduced to the bass. His musical influences range from Getty Lee to others such as Les Claypool and Flea. The thundering sound of his bass earned him the name “Thumper”, yet his softer, more melodic side makes you want to go out and stand in a cool, gentle rain. This rhythm freight train drives the undertones of STRONGHOLD’S music.
Greg Brown-guitar/vocals
Unlike the folk singer who bears his name, Greg is a high energy rocker and Stronghold's fifth element. Influenced by greats like Gilmore, Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, he brings a driving blues/funk edge to the band. He is an Atlanta native with over 24 years experience playing and writing music. When not gigging or recording with Stronghold, Greg teaches guitar in the Canton area. He also enjoys training in Kenpo karate with his family. Greg's style takes the band to new levels and adds to Stronghold's stage performance.Layout made by sandy
We are one of the premiere rock bands in Atlanta. We work hard to make sure everyone has a great time. Once you see a show, you are hooked...<Background on the band-STRONGHOLD was formed early in 2004 when long time friends Sky, Joe Obregon, and Danny McCormack decided they wanted to put together a band with a positive message, energetic performances, and just great music. We searched for the other elements to make the band strong. Went through a lot of bass players trying to round the band out. While searching for a bass player we ran into an incredible guitarist that became the " Fifth Element " of the band, Greg Brown. With Joe and Greg we essentially had two lead guitarist with varying styles. In 2008, Danny decided to leave the band and is now the drummer for Slamyn Ethyl, we wish him all the best. His tracks are still on a lot of our music that you hear on our sites. A few monthes later, Greg brought in Brian and Sean McMaster to play drums and bass. The father and son rhythym section completed the sound that makes STRONGHOLD what it is today, one of the top rock bands in the Atlanta area. Over the years we have played our originals and covers at venues all around the Atlanta area, like Smith's Olde Bar, The Alley, Bullfrogz, Little River Grill, and many more. In 2007, we were voted Best Rock band and People's Choice award for the Killer Creek Harley-Davidson Battle of the Bands. We put on the most entertaining live performance of any band in the Southeast. People come early and stay late. What more could you ask for? Our families, friends, and fans are affectionately known as " The Spirit Nation ". We hope you get a chance to come see a show, then you will be a fan for life. Peace and God bless. 'Nuff said.
