Strut is a label specialising in compilations digging through the vaults for lost dancefloor gems from '70s Caribbean soul to rare Italo disco. The label was originally formed back in 1999, and early albums included a live DJ set by Larry Levan from his famed residency at New York's Paradise Garage, a Grandmaster Flash original breaks mix and the Nigeria 70 comp of original Nigerian Afrobeat classics. This year's crop includes a collection exploring the genius of August Darnell aka Kid Creole, a look at the golden '80s era at Compass Point studios in Nassau and Disco Italia featuring some cracking Italo rarities selected by Stevie Kotey.
