Hi there! Welcome to the stryder myspace page!
Stryder is an electronic music artist hailing from the beautiful rural town of Echo Soils in Belgium who started his project around the end of 2005, but already started producing music a few years before. Goa trance and psychedelic music are the main inspiration behind his own productions (In particular, the sound of Infected Mushroom!) but his influences range wide, very wide... Right up to catchy melodic techno from Detroit and Chicago from the golden era to beautiful ethnic dub over to Japanese melancholic anime soundtracks and lost Nintendo game music gems to downstraight heavy and industrial metal like Machine Head. In 2006 he started giving own parties on a small scale in the heart of Ghent's nightlife. Since then many dj-sets around the country have followed for him and the first international one came in January 2008. After a second performance in Germany his very first live act soon saw the light! It was given early in the morning in Hotel Borgo Sereno in Franconalto, Italy, in front of an exhausted but still excited audience on a party hosted by Looney Moon Records. The track listing included eight own compositions ranging from slow progressive-oriented tracks to powerful melodic fullon with an oldschool twist, as in the Belgian tradition! :) Most dj-sets delivered are of course in the (g)oldschool Goa sound but also fullon, night fullon, darkpsy and progressive trance cds and compilations sit firmly inside his cd-bag. Occasionally when specifically asked for, he will perform a set in one or more of these genres. He also takes a knack in combining and transitioning between all kinds of musical genres, especially on the chillout stage or when allowed, the main stage! Always expect to hear something out of the ordinary from him, conformity is not his brightest star. A very nice example is the Caribbean Drift promo mix, who you can find on his homepage somewhere, where the musical journey starts in a terrifyingly sweet chillout dub, yet to evolve into break beat-trance, and while laying down some of his most favorite progressive trance tunes in between, makes the switch to dreamy melodic full on while never losing the sweet oceanic feeling of the whole mix! In the chillout he plays his own genre, a nameless one in a sometimes champloo-ish dj-style. Sweet jazzy vibes to crazy acidic breaks or horrifying and haunting ambient, you're just not gonna be able to name it all considering he's just started collecting vinyls for his vast and literally ever-expanding
