I wrote the songs on acoustic and sing on the album as well as playing drums

Rob Dix (my dad) played electric guitar.
The album 'empyreal' was recorded by the leader of the group I was in at the age of fourteen,Dan Dexter, and little was I to know at that time that he would go on to do a music engineering and music technology course at Uni. As soon as he had finished we both decided to take on my songs as a project and produce a cd (this was just as a way of me having a recording of my own songs for my own benefit), however, the little project starting in Dan's bedroom went to Ambushed Studios in London to record.
Influences
Bands such as Delirous? United Live, Hillsong church and songwriters such as Daniel Beddingfield and Steve Martin out of Coldplay have all had influence over my music and many others too. However the main influence on my music is my God and the life experiences I have had. I pray that these songs infleunce you to.

It's a bit of everything really.
All of the world has a kinda Chris Tomlin, Tim Hughes feel i think.
Empyreal is a contrast as this is more rock, maybe more of a Kutless feel.
Something about you is a jazz style, chill out song
Worthy is Your name is more of a worship song.
Unbelievable is quite funcky
The others are a range of styles.
When the album is completely on myspace then I will let u judge and please tell me if there are songs u don't like as well. PS. My voice isn't exactly Martin Smith as this is just a solo, basic recording.
I have been in my local church all my life, the Mount of Olives AOG, Coleford. I loved to listen and to sing along to music from right at the ouset of my life. God has always been my first love and always will be. I joined a Christian band when I was about 14 years old, playing drums. This was my first experience of using music as a vehicle to worship my God. When I was in year 10 I took up guitar for GCSE music and basically as soon as I knew my first three chords I was attempting to write music. The oppertunity came, after being able to play to a certain standard, to play in the worship team at church and sing. After doing this for a year I was placed as a worship leader and have been leading worship in my local house since. I love what God does through presencing Himself with His people and music is just a vehicle we can use to get into God's presence. The songs I have written have stemmed from God's inspiration in the word, in spending time in His presence and through the life experiences I have gone through, which God had planned for me from before I was even formed. I pray these songs inspire, encourage and bless you as you listen to them.
