About Stuart Leathem

This is the myspace page of Stuart Leathem. Born in Northern Ireland in 1980 and brought up surrounded by Wendy Carlos music, Salvation Army brass banding, and heavy rock. Perhaps out of this strange clash of styles Stuart composes from a slightly different angle, leading to the fact that when you hear a piece by Stuart, you know its a piece by Stuart. He writes live music for all sorts of different groups and ensembles, scores for tv/film, and also releases electro-acoustic albums. Patchwork Mindset and the wonderful Rue du Theatre album are both available on itunes now. Another feature of Stuart's music is his work with artists where they let him have all the separate parts of a studio session and allow him to tear it apart and re-make it as a totally different entity and sound-scape. The results have been stunning, from re-working the Queen demo Self Made Man into a disco anthem, or turning heavy rock by Savanna Sky into an electro acoustic trip, or even bringing the voice of German opera diva Wiltrud Weber to a new audience, Stuart is devilishly precise in the studio, and painfully self-critical out of it. So enjoy the visit, and feel free to explore the music as far as you can...............there is always a new project in the pot! Stuart's long awaited Rue du Theatre album is OUT NOW! Our latest is a killer mix featuring Coldplay and Jennifer Lopez called You Do Clocks Well. We paid a consultant millions to come up with that ingenious title! Millions of salt granules. We cutt up, bash up and smashing around the likes of Coldplay, Kraftwerk, Leona Lewis, Rhianna, Pixies, Gallows and Muse. Our latest mix is Omen Epic ft Prodigy and Faith No More . It can be heard only on the SeX DwArF myspace. One that has also just gone up is a radical combo of ft Prodigy and Beyonce. Rebooted, filtered, animated, shaken, cut, pasted, shown to Beyonce who says oh oh oh oh oh no no , smashed with a great hammer, deconstructed and turned into something cunningly called Naughty Spitfire .
