About me:

Stuck On A Name is based just outside Nottingham city centre and is aimed at provided superior quality recordings on a realistic budget for bands and musicians. Our philosophy is that not paying the Earth should not automatically result in recordings that suck. ;-)

Stuck On A Name was started and is run collectively by Ian Boult and Phil Roberts. Begun as a humble bedroom operation in Radford Nottingham, we have now grown to a custom-built recording and rehearsal room business armed with state-of-the-art recording equipment from such pro-audio luminaries as Lynx & API.

We have worked with musicians and bands ranging from solo acoustic to indie to rock to ear-shredding metal. We always strive to bring the best out of each band and give them to sound they look for in themselves and their music.

Check the player below for examples of some of our work.

Who I'd like to meet:

If you're a band or musician and want to record, then we want to meet you! We've worked with a range of genres including doom, grindcore, metal, punk, pop-punk and indie. So whatever it is you've got, we'll record it for you and try to give you that sound you're after.

Recording Rates:

WE CHARGE BY THE DAY. WE DO NOT CHARGE PER SONG.

So in other words the question "How much would you charge to record 1/2/3/4/etc songs" can only be answered with "Well how many songs can you nail in a day". ;)

Our day rate is currently £130 per day. Off-line mixing (i.e: mixing done outside of booked time) is charged at £15 per song.

Sessions typically start at 10pm and finish by 6pm

We have a range of equipment available for hire at £10 per item per day for drums, bass & guitar amp gear. Some of the equipment we have available for session hire includes:

  • 6-piece Gretsch Catalina Maple drumkit.
  • Diezel VH4, Peavey 5150, Engl Powerball, Mesa Dual Rectifier, Marshall TSL100 & Marshall JMP-1 guitar amplifiers.
  • Ampeg, Tech21 Sansamp & Laney bass amps.
