In the midst of Utah’s $350 million fiscal deficit an extremist out-of-state group is partnering with your anti-choice Utah legislators who want to waste our taxpayer money attempting to criminalize abortion. These legislators and their allies will be holding a press conference tomorrow afternoon, September 30, at the Utah State Capitol to talk about their hopes of banning abortion in Utah and making us a test case for overturning Roe v. Wade.
[Tomorrow afternoon these legislators, with all of their support coming from outside of Utah, will tell us all why they think we should waste taxpayer dollars on litigation to restrict women’s health and reproductive freedom.]
But we at PPAC won’t be taking this outrageous political stunt lying down! Join us tomorrow as we protest this wasteful affront to women’s health and say NO MORE to ideological assaults on Utah women and families. Join us tomorrow as we tell these out-of-touch legislators to move on and work on legislation that will actually HELP us, not harm us! Join us as we stand up to this nonsense:
• Women’s Health Rally: We want to show this small contingent of anti-choice extremists that we are a force that will not let them waste our time and money to restrict our choice. We will meet at the Capitol in the East Building Cafeteria at 1:45 p.m. to protest this absurdity. PPAC will provide all signs and banners. Come help us stand up to this injustice – and bring all of your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers as well.

Stop President Bush's Sellout of Women's Health! The Bush administration is about to release a rule that would specifically attack programs designed to promote women’s health care and reproductive health.
Hey there! I'm so glad you found me. I have been primarily focusing on starting the organization but I do have a few ideas for events this year. I would absolutely love to co-host an event with you guys! I would also love to hear what your plans are for this year and what you have done in the past. I believe I have your email address, so, if you don't mind, I have a ton of questions for you guys. I'll email you sometime this week and I'll try to keep my questions to a minimum.:) Have a fantastic weekend.
Thanks to all your hard work over the past couple of months, we got Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to sign on to our bill and last week the Senate voted to Restore Affordable Birth Control! Now, its up to the House to make this a reality for the millions of college students and low income women it impacts. We expect ABC to come to a vote in the House next week, so take 5 minutes today to save birth control!
2. After you've sent your email, take 2 minutes and ask your friends to do the same. Again, we expect ABC to come to a vote in the House next week so time is of the essence.
3. Repost the link in a note on facebook and/or a bulletin on myspace asking your friends to email her as well. For most people it takes them seeing this three times to actually take action. So, posting notes and bulletins, and/or changing your 'status' all raise awareness about the urgency of this issue.
It is truly our collective hard work and outreach that has gotten us here. We're almost there! Thank you for taking another 5 minutes today!
The weather is getting better, the election season is in full swing, and it’s time for the Planned Parenthood Action Council to step it up a notch. But we can’t do it without your help!
Next week we will start walking selected neighborhoods and rallying community support for abstinence-based comprehensive sex education in Utah. This is a very important issue widely supported by many voters (even in Utah!) and we need to get the word out about prevention and education now.
We’ll start walking next Tuesday and Thursday evening (May 20 and 22). We’re meeting in the parking lot on the south side of 6100 South and Main Street at 5:00 pm and will walk until 8:00. We’ll provide you with a short training and all the materials you will need – all you need to do is show up.
Email us at ppac@ppau.org or call Sam at 801-328-8939 to sign up today!
Come be a part of the Prevention Now campaign! Volunteer with PPAC today and help us make a difference in Utah.
