...My paintings are a paradoxical reflection of the space age that we exist in, in the 21st century. The paintings I create portray a reluctant illusion of what the future will be like in a world dominated by Robots. With that said, I believe that Robots will evolve as far as having the ability to process emotions and eventually acquire a rebellious state of being...by Jose Aguirre

Feburary 1, 2007 ARTHOP

Jonathan Ayalais a a digital surrealist. Born and raised in Fresno, Jonathan enjoys all types of media and was unaware of the limitless possibilities of using the computer to aid in his own artwork. After graduating from Fresno State in 2004 with a Bachelors of Arts emphasizing on Graphic Design, Jonathan learned new techniques to bring his own photgraphy into the computer and create new works of art that he could not have achieved using other methods. He calls his style “digital surrealism,” expressing the workings of the subconscious using fantastic imagery and incongruous combinations of subject matter. This series is the first by Jonathan and is entitled “Juxtaposition.”
Jonathan will place his pieces at a very special rate for the ArtHop Thursday Reception at Studio1922. So don't miss out!

~
Cesar Anaya is a full time professional, directing the marketing department of a local home health agency. He is also an avid cyclist riding for Herb Bauer cycling team. Cesar's busy schedule and draining exercise routine do not hold down his true passion for photography. He is inspired by his surroundings subject and the spirit of the nature. He tries to capture the essence of what he sees through his lens. Cesar has a simple, straight-forward approach to his photography, allowing the photo to tell its own story. ~
Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Kanako Takano brings with her a unique fusion of jewelry style pulling from Japanese culture and American influences. Kanako specializes in the difficult technique of "torched" beads which uses glass and torch flame to create a sythesis of color and dynamic texture. She also has a great collection of her own hand-made jewelry and accessories that are one of a kind.
