The Baron, Bernard Estardy was born in 1939, during the year of the bear.
He started his career as a Jazz pianist with Bill Coleman and his old pal Nino Ferrer.
In 1967 Georges Chatelein and him founded a new studio: CBE, the first independant studio in Paris.
They built it together with their own hands and they resorted to the electronics genius Gunter Loof who would allow them to always be a step ahead, concerning technology and sound.
During 40 years the Studio CBE has discovered itself an infinite source of musical fuel through the vibrations of the most beautiful songs and the irresistible sampled grooves.
The one who was called the Giant (2m05 / 6 feet 7) is the arranger of more than 10 000 songs, selling more than 300 millions records worldwide.
T-Bone Walker, Paul Simon, Mike Brant or Lee Hazelwood, they all came and sang in his secret laboratory.
Some say that he had found the Formula to turn a song into a hit.
The Baron left us in September 2006... but his soul hasn't left the 95 Championnet street and the machines are still working under his careful look.
And as far as the Formula is concerned... We're on it !

- A monitor system of loudspeakers and a Mc Intosch stereo tube amplifier.
- Various tube equipements (Teletronix, Tube-tech...)
- A collection of old microphones (Neumann U 47...)
- A whole set of vintage instruments (Würlitzer, Fender Rhodes, Steinway, Hammond Organ...)
CBE has a soul and a warmth that will surround you from the very first takes to the final mix. And way after.
The tape is ready, the tubes are hot, you can feel it in the air:

Le Baron et Nino
Tout près de Cahors, une maison du XVème siècle se trouve perchée sur une colline. Un endroit entourée de cèdres et de chênes choisi par Nino Ferrer dans les années 70 comme lieu de vie et de création.
Un spectacle complètement cuivré pour une série de dates exceptionnelles… et un concert UNIQUE à Paris :

10 musiciens sur scène : les 4 de Courir Les Rues auxquels s’ajoutent 3 sax de haute voltige, 2 cuivres prêts à en découdre et 1 batteur à l’affût. Des arrangements pointus, tantôt big-band, tantôt fanfare tourbillonnante. Le tout au service des mots et des mélodies. Une musique enivrante à souhait, endiablée pour une soirée de fête. Il faudra être beau pour ce rendez-vous !
