Have you already seen a band with as well a virtuoso from Bangladesh, a Castafiora from Tanger, a percussionist from Haiti, a V-Jay from Vietnam, a diva Belgian-Moroccan, an Ethiopian singer of which her Madagascan ancestors are whispering regularly promontories dreams into her ears, a singer Baul whose Bengaline Culture and philosophy resembles a lot the huge ideals of the hippy ideology of the sixties, and when he was a little boy, had the privilege to meet up with Bob Dylan, a jazz drummer who's been living in India for eight years to specialize himself in playing Tablas, mridangams, ... and two producers who've been together for twenty-five years already, who've been locking themselves up in a cave to put all this together?

Studio Pagol is performing for more than seven years already on the same stages as artists like Talvin Singh, Gotan Project, Zuco 103, Le peuple de l'Herbe, Natacha Atlas, Badmarsh & Shri, State Of Bengale, Transglobal Underground, Arno, Zita Swoon, Balkan beat box, Orchestre National de Barbès, and Check Point 303 and this in more than twelve countries.

Trouvez-moi un autre groupe au monde qui a vu passé en son sein un virtuose Bangladeshi, une Castafiore Tangéroise, un percussionniste Haïtien, une V-Jay Vietnamienne, une Diva belgo-marocaine et une chanteuse éthiopienne dont les rêves prémonitoires lui sont régulièrement soufflés par ses grands parents malgaches ! Un chanteur Baul dont la culture et la philosophie bengalie ressemble à s'y méprendre aux grands idéaux hippies des années soixante (il a même côtoyé Bob Dylan quand il était môme !), un batteur de jazz qui a vécu 8 ans en Inde pour se spécialiser dans les tablas et les mridangams, ... et deux producteurs qui travaillent ensemble depuis 25 ans et qui se sont enfermés 6 ans dans une cave pour mettre tout cela ensemble !

Nur kurz woher die Bandmitglieder kommen, Bangladesh, Tanger, Belgien & Marokko oder auch Äthiopien. Ein internationlae Mischung also.
Studio Pagol selbst bezeichnen sich als Musikerkollektiv und ihren Stil als „Ethno-Dance-Trance“. Eine sehr indisch klingende Soundmelange mit Danceeinflüssen die mal an Bollywood erinnert und manchmal von so hypnotischer Redundanz geprägt ist, dass man Raum und Zeit vergessen kann. Nein, es ist kein Chill-Out oder Lounge Album, dazu ist es zu lebendig. Aber die Mischung ist sehr interessant, indischer Gesang, orientalische Sounds, Tabla und Rock-Gitarren und das alles auf einem elektronischen Hintergrundsound. Allein die Sprachvielfalt ist überwältigend, Bengali, Hindi, Spanisch, Arabisch, Englisch und Französisch. So, und jetzt festhalten, sogar ein Remix der Beatles Nummer „Tomorrow never knows“ ist auf diesem Album zu finden. Studio Pagol teilten sich auch schon mit Talvin Singh, Gotan Project, Zuco 103, Natascha Atlas und soagr Transglobal Underground die Bühne, sind aber von kommerzieller Musik weit entfernt, und das ist auch gut so. Schließlich brauchen wir auch noch Geheimtipps!
