Daniel
(going festive, it seems)

Daniel is a resident of north-west-five, London, and has been a resident of various parts of north London since the latter parts of 2003. He likes a lot of music, but has a tendancy to go for overly-romantic singer/songwriter records made by people who are probably alcoholics, and the sort of music that is so loud live that it slaps you around the face and forces you to pay attention. Daniel is also part of the team over at Smalltown America, which suits him as they all share his passion for not only for releasing great records but also being pissheads in the process.

   About Studio Penguin Records

"Music is still something community-based, if you make it. It can still be a method of idea sharing, and it can still be valuable as a political tool, even if the ability to dissent is being taken away from us ... Bands shouldnt have nothing to say. We say this, even though we are merely spreading other peoples ideas: lets stop buying everything we dont need. Lets do something about climate change before its too late. Lets question EVERYTHING, because its our right as people. If were not going to be given a say, then lets say something anyway, because the human race is systematically destroying itself. And lets dance while were at it."

it's a bit cold and wet, perfect weather for penguins!

popular workshop's new single is out NOW! it's a split single with their friends the far cries, and out through the nice people at tigertrap recordings. click the links and check it out, as Tigertrap are one of the finest new labels we've come across recently. they've also got another brand new track on a compilation put out recently by Tough Love Records, which can be pre-ordered here.

HELP!: we want our singles played on the radio. if you do too, you should contact either this nice man or this nice man as they have copies of both singles!

sadly, jamie has decided to leave projections but never fear - he will be playing one last gig with the band at a launch gig for their forthcoming split single (with Luke Abbott, on trash aesthetics) at London's famous Rough Trade Records shop. the date for this is TBC, but we'll let everyone know. after this, they plan to hunker down for a few months writing new material with new bassist jon "boosterhead" wood (whatever that means).
they also have a brand new track on the last volume of smalltown america's critically-acclaimed public service broadcast compilation series. it's called "leave this room" and if you've seen them live recently you might know it as "the big fat one they play the end that rocks out. a lot.". it's available now from the smalltown america online shop and features a whole load of other ace stuff.

white trash party's debut EP will be with us soon, it's a hand-made affair on CD, limited to 100 copies. we'll have it up for pre-order as soon as possible.

other than all this, things are bubbling under for us right now. plans are being made, oh yes they are.

here are the records we have inflicted on the world thus far:

new: we now have the ability to sell them to you directly, so if you wish to buy any of them please click the buttons below. prices do not include P&P as this is added on afterwards (UK only, please email for international orders!), all payments are done via paypal and if you have any questions or experience any problems at all (this is still new to us!) please do not hesitate to either message or email us! you can also email us if you wish to set up an alternative method of payment.

Hello Sailor. Brainlove is in Brixton tonight for a brand new night of European bands! Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp hardly ever play England and they're unbelievable... Also - join TEAM BRAINLOVE on Facebook and pick up 5 MP3s from Napoleon IIIrd, Pagan Wanderer Lu, Keyboard Choir, Applicants and Junkplanet... HoooOOOO-AH!*
(*as Al Pacino might have said in Scent Of A Woman.

GOOD DAY LORDS AND LADIES!

Another weekend of Bloody Awful Poetry is fast approaching us, so that right you fabulous chaps and chappettes, its time for you to dig out your diaries!

On Saturday 17th November at the wondrous watering hole that is Nambucca, we have the bouncetabulous Dexter headlining, with awesome supports in the likes of the tremendous Rum Shebeen, the folktastic The Prelude and the terrific Milk Kan

Oh yes! But as you know, it doesnt stop there, coz as always we spoil you. The very following day, we kick back, relax and sip dry sherry at the marvelous Monkey Chews. And are joined by the likes of the splendid Friends Of The Bride, the tremendous Looker, the ridiculously talented Jon Byrne and the truly brilliant Marcus Mumford

So how's about you come join us for a bevvy. Lets pull on our dancing shoes, tie our dicky bows, and ply ourselves with enough alcohol to sink a small Oliver Reed.
