Subject matter is mainly fantasy and or comic-related in nature. Pretty much anything that floats through my mind is apt to be put down in 2D. My faeries have been selling since 95 in stores throughout Jacksonville, but I am now going to conventions to meet my comic heroes and try my wings at being able to work with them.
Music
I listen to too many things to list but I have been influenced to paint by the works of Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Dead Can Dance, Delerium and much Irish and Classical music. I listen to a lot of obscure British bands like the The Cranes, and also female artists who are kind of "out there" Tori Amos, Bjork, Roisin Murphy ( thank you Alpha J ) and Kate Nash. Radio friendly music consists of classic artists like Fleetwood Mac, and newer bands like Paramore.
Movies
Movies like "Legend", "Pan's Labrynth, "Blade Runner", "Edward Scissorhands", and "Sin City" have all been influential to my work/style.
Movies like "Dangerous Beauty"," Sleepy Hollow", and any period piece lend themself well to detailing the gowns I may paint my faeries in or the ladies I design for. Personally, I prefer period style clothing.
Television
Honestly, I hated television until my ex got me addicted to "24". I've since stopped watching it, but now love "Heroes".
Books
I have many books on the Pre-Raphaelite, Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods in art history. I also have numerous books by artists who painted Romantic Classicist subject matter ( ie Waterhouse ). I have more books on Boris Vallejo's works because I admire his photorealism and color manipulation in fantasy subject matter but also have books on Julie Bell and am currently collecting the "Spectrum" annual Fantasy Art books. I hope to one day be in it.
Heroes
I am influenced by classic artists like Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, John William Waterhouse, fantasy artists like Boris Vallejo, Alan Lee and Julie Bell, and the comic art of Art Adams, old school John Byrne, Adam Hughesand Jim Lee. I am also a huge Comic Book nerd. My two favorite heroines are Wonder Woman and Storm. I prefer a sinuous or sweeping design element to rigid, confined or structured forms. I'm still working on fleshing that out though. I can't be boxed in if I want to appeal to the masses, no?
About me: I am a freelance artist based out of Jacksonville Florida. I have been doing this off and on for approximately 11 years and am now focusing on it more. I have done special requests/commissions in the form of tattoo designs, flash work for tattoo studios, portraits, murals, backdrops and props for numerous types of stage productions, gown/costume design and almost anything you might be able to think of. I personally prefer to work in Acrylic and Colored Pencil, and sometimes venture into watercolor and ink. I have recently discovered Copic Markers ( Thank you Mr. Hughes ) Pricing per piece depends on the time it takes, the depth and detail of the subject matter and the size of the overall work. It can also vary depending on how fast you want it ( last minute? ) and what it all includes ( multi-figure, complicated background, etc )
A painting generally takes anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days depending on all the elements listed above. It is also sometimes relative to how clear of an image I see in my head. When doing portraits I work from photographs only. I never ask anyone to sit still for hours as drawing takes much longer, for me, than painting. I am able to superimpose images together to make a picture from multiple images but the specifications for this can be a bit difficult to put together. Lighting, etc, must be taken into consideration. The more difficult the puzzle is to piece together, the more I'll charge ;)
I've recently been hired on as a sketch card artist for Rittenhouse Archives ( SciFiHobby.com ). I, so far, have three sets under my belt and am working on a fourth. Hopefully this is the start of something new, and a pathway to other awesomeness. I am lucky enough to say that since this started I've been kept VERY busy by many other awesome artists. Getting to draw the super heroes I've loved since childhood is a dream come true.
I am available for special requests and commissions by sending me a message. Serious inquiries only, please.

Who I'd like to meet: Muses, poets, priests of nothing. Legends in the making
Let's Start...START HEY!!! Why do we like to hurt so much...oh why do we like to hurt sooo muuuuch? (That's what you get when you let your heart win!) whoooooooaaaaaah...
aw shucks...we do have good times while gorging ourselves. We should consider that this weekend...if you can muster up the courage that is, i would hate to push and you start freaking out on me...your short fuse and violent tendencies are ever present in mind, but in the end I know you're a good woman and i just press your buttons. oh and evidently someone in my house contracted a ninja (perhaps two) to sneak some god forsaken orange/floral/death-like smelling air freshener in my room. Now my nose is being raped on a nightly basis by a smell I can only compare to a Thai whore house. Side note, you too should give mission work some consideration, I found it quite fulfilling. Just don't go with a church that worships a Care Bear deep throating a sparkler, takes your passport and leaves at a rest stop in Phuket. If I see another red light glowing through a beaded curtain before I die it'll be too soon..ah the follies of our youth. But anyway I'll stop babbling talk to you soon.
Hello. My name is Sean and I suck at colo(u)ring. Would you like to be my colo(u)rist? Pay includes interesting conversation, Gaga iTunage and enough sarcastic wit to last a lifetime. :D
BAH! You cool artists, with your talent and your coolness and your hot parties with strippers and booze. In fact, forget the booze! lol Either I'm very sheltered or I just freeze up for some reason. Must look into this, I will.
My profile is THE place to be for the hip, happenin', good-taste-in-music crowd, yeah? Feel free to stop by *anytime* and ja-ja, ja-ja-ja, Just Dance! >:P
