Studiotone explores the sonic bounds of modern music by both creatively channeling their broad, but decidedly rock influences and leveraging the musical backgrounds of all its members. The band harnesses the lyrical poignancy and pop sensibilities of U2 and flirts with the edgy guitarsmithy and live energy of the Foo Fighters.
In addition to being a featured artist on Not Lame Records, Studiotone's music has been spotlighted in several compilations (Lansing Capital City NOISE Vol. 2, WZOW-South Bend's Special Cuts 2002, Red Room Vol. 1) a local motion picture soundtrack (The Crotchening) and secured a top three finish in one of Detroit's biggest Battle of the Bands competitions (Hayloft Liquor Stand).
Studiotone has appeared with many national acts, including The Electric Six, Sponge, Local H, Bowling for Soup, Sugarcult, 7 Mary 3 and Blessid Union of Souls on stages throughout Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
Several Studiotone songs have received airplay on Midwestern airwaves, portending the future when the band can bring their well-crafted rock numbers to the masses, enthralling them with their live wire stage presence. The musicanship speaks for itself and the hooks are sugary sweet. Sweet like Southern Comfort, with a characteristic bite that sinks its teeth into you and never lets go, and aftertaste that only fades when it's time for another drink.
I need your help! I am in a comedy contest about taxes… and the winner is up to you. It would be great if you would cast a few votes for me. It will just take a minute, so please see my blog for voting details. Thanks!
Sorry! Our ride took off, and we were stranded. I tried calling Bryan, but he wasn't picking up. :( Call me next time you guys hang out, and I'll definately be there!

Naming Studiotone (all members past and present) responsible for punitive damages for the following reasons:
* Travel miles, gasoline, vehicle wear and tear, vehicle maintenance fees as a result of traveling
* Cleaning bills for smoke damage to clothing, hair, etc.
* Overcharging as well as over serving of adult beverages by both establishments/venues and especially band members (perhaps should be two separate categories)
* Loss of Sunday activities (particularly during NFL and summer seasons) due to exhaustion, lack of appetite, extreme head and ear aching, and stomach and bowel dysfunction/malfunction (the aforementioned symptoms causing Sunday activity loss will also be named as separate items in the suit)
* Reimbursement for purchase and handling of all band souvenirs and memorabilia
* Babysitting fees, to include loss of time spent/ loss of memories with children/godchildren (this is time that we can never get back…)
* The individual marketing, solicitation, and promotion of the band
* Emotional distress – we will no longer be able to see the regular core of people (that were usually at the shows) in a group setting again, causing a void in our lives…
Note these reasons may be added to and amended at any time.
Hey guys, tried to post on your site board, but it seems to be down. Anyway ... I had SUCH a great time Friday night at the Pub!!! You guys rocked ... sometimes it's easy for us to forget just how tight of a sound you have until you follow an opening act.. then it's almost cruel to compare the opener to you ...! ha ha ha At least that's how it was Friday. You sounded better than ever, and I am so bummed that you are taking a "hiatus" or whatever you're calling it. It's cool that my last Studiotone show is at the place where I first heard you, at the Nick Andros benefit show 3 years ago February. (I remember cuz my daughter was only 6 weeks old when I headed out to the benefit.) I was actually leaving the Pub when you guys took the stage around midnight (it was time to go nurse the baby), and you opened with "Falling From the Sun". I stopped in my tracks, turned around, and listened to the next 3 songs before leaving because I absolutely had to get back home. I bought your cd the next week, and thus began my Studiotone journey!! I was soon headed off to shows in Traverse City, Ludington, East Lansing, Mt Clemens, various locations in the Detroit area, Bay City and Saginaw. I am looking forward to the new album and MORE SHOWS in the fall!!! hint hint
I wish I could be at Berkley's show next week, but I need to be in good form on Sunday since it is Mother's Day, and my kids are performing in a church choir, and then I have a band concert that afternoon. If a T.C. show is scheduled, I'll do my best to make it there!
In the meantime, keep rockin', take care, and know that you and your music make a difference in the lives of your fans. sue
