Today's civilized person has a tiny, narrow view of how the world works and how life should be. In masses people have marched to make it so - bulldozing all other life out of their path without care or knowledge of what they're doing to the rest of the world around them. Civilization's culture has created a twisted logic that supports this status quo and prevents folks from having to face reason, or be made to think outside of this destructive box. People constantly struggle to stay within it themselves lest they should be punished. It is a world screaming for The Stumbling Block.

The Stumbling Block is a project that is tearing down the aggravating walls of "everyday" logic which are choking out all spirit, all thought, and all hope from a dying world. Its writers are ripping through the bars of today's societal cage. The project is full of essays, commentaries, even a free-to-read book bearing the same name, all of which are turning the table on conventional wisdom. Even original music is soon to come! The Stumbling Block is taking the mantras mindlessly spoken by too many generations and turning their own questions around on them.

It is revolutionary thought in a time when even our revolutions are corporate-sponsored, homogenized, and reduced into harmless fashion statements. The Stumbling Block project has dug up the lost art of true rebellion from a long overdue grave and practices it like there's no tomorrow, especially since our society is racing along to make sure there IS no tomorrow.

Be it Jesus and religion, right- and left-wing politics, Oprah-esque psycho-babble, trendy new-age non-answers, ineffective "expert" rhetoric, or old-age superstition, "top-minds" are tackling every taboo topic in unconventional, taboo ways. If you are sick of hearing the same old topics danced around by the same old pundits, there are few places to hear or speak anything truly new - and this is one of them.

Anything else would just be... civilized.
