not long ago two struggling musicians retreated to an area under the stairs where the 78's, sawdust and spiders live. they found an affinity for
"simultaneousmultiinstrumentalism" and banjos with even-number of strings.
a few songs and late-night conversations grew into what is now a trainwreck of blues, ragtime, gospel, celtic, jugband, country and classic story-telling numbers - original, traditional and some in-between - finding their way out from under the stairs on occasion and onto dimly-lit stages across the pacific northwest.
