SLC are a Chorley based band. Check out the tracks that are up now!
STUPID LITTLE CARS
Formed out of the ashes of ‘Shorn’ & ‘Disco Zhivago' (the band that never was, SLC are a 3-piece from the Northern wastes of Lancashire. Often described as stupid, sometimes ‘little’, but never ‘cars’, SLC were conceived in the late summer of 2006. In 2007 SLC played 30 gigs all over the North-West and are looking forward to playing more in 2008. Musically;uniquely abrasive like a sharkskin marshmallow! .SLC have been described as "melodic with pinch of lyrical rum snuff" .So amongst the barbed brambles of delusion sits the plump ripe blackberry of a band ready to sow the seeds of confusion, purvayors of ‘Lounge Punk', ‘Psycho Pop' with a touch of aggressive ambience. Their overall sound is as much a parody as it is an enigma.
Handsome shaun
Shaun has played in various bands down the years, including ('Shorn', 'Adesire', 'Dash Rip Rock', ‘The Sinister Chuckles' & ‘Dynamo Tourettes'. Prolific songwriter & drinker, and serial failed-womaniser, this penniless playboy of the Western world doesn't suffer fools gladly, he just joins in with them occasionally.
Likes: ‘Futurama', vintage clothes, ‘The Mighty Boosh', ‘Blackadder', Glam Rock, Punk, Classic Soul, Ska, any original music, eccentric people, Jaffa Cakes, Tim Burton films, sailing.
Dislikes: Reality TV, Emo, Jazz, mobile phones, slugs, Chavs, fundamentalist religions, soap operas, Jim Davison, Russell Brand, flying, opera, ballet, clowns, keep fit and healthy eating fascists, elephant seals, Steven Seagal films, bling, Monopoly.
Favourite SLC track: James Bond in drag
Dancin; Ste
Stevie played with Nottingham bands ‘This Is Not An Exit' (Shaun suggested that it would have been an easier name to remember if they had been called ‘Entrance’!) Stevie, ‘the face with the bass', injects his own unique brand of driving bass with melodic loops and hooks(!?) with a penchant for super-bad hats. He's the doodiest dude around!
Likes: Orange, super-bad hats, his sensible medium-sized car, ‘Refused’, ‘Minus the Bear’, ‘Herman Dune’, ‘Mates of State’ and the occasional sherbet fountain.
Dislikes: Night-fishing, beavers, Russell Brand, muggers (although in his experience they've all been shit at it -one even suggested that he helped them rob a bank when he refused to pay up.)
Favourite SLC track: aint no ghost'
Terry O’
Far too chilled out for his own good ('far-out' and ‘well, fancy that' being his strongest swear-phrases to date!), Terry spent a number of years playing professional rugby in Australia, where he says, cries of “Thrash the Pommie!” made him a much-better player all-round. Back in Chorley, Terry started his musical career playing tambourine with a little-known local band, ‘A Band of Midgets'. Terry joined Shaun and Stevie as a replacement drummer in the now defunct ‘Shorn’. He is the perfectionist of the band, also the only one who is remotely physically fit! He drives a large 4-by-4 and is considering applying extra-large wheels so he will be able to run over Stupid Little Cars!
Likes: Jesus, Kato the boxer, live music, training, Frank Sidebottom and Little Frank, boxing, football, Monkey-Trousers, chocolate and big bongos.
Dislikes: Hoodies with staffs, semolina, magpies, boy-bands, superficial pop, drum-machines, nettles, cycling-shorts, Russell Brand, getting telesales calls when eating his tea.
