Stupyd Cow, formed back in 1998ish in the wonderfully lame county of Frederick, MD. Adam-Vocals/Guitar and Mikey P-Guitar/Vocals met on their school bus that drove them from their developement to school each and everyday...except the weekend. The two wanted to start a band after taking guitar lessons together their Sophmore year. Adam knew of a drummer from his English 1 history class by the name of Michael Kelly. Ricky Shirly was also in their guitar class and because he was the only one who owned a bass, he got the gig. Like most high school bands just starting out, the band didn't have their own sound. Just playing chords and riffs that sorta sounded like their inspirations. Stupyd Cow never really did much the early years, it was more of a thing to do to pass the time. The band kept practicing and playing a local bar called the Bentz Street Raw bar in Frederick. Eventually the band recorded a demo in 2000 that had 5 tracks on it...it has vanished to this day. Stupyd Cow kept playing local shows in WV, and MD and recorded a full length album called "Leave It All Behind" in 2002. The album consisted of 19 songs, including the 5 from the previous demo. Afterwards the band continued to play local shows.
Time passes...
The band recorded a second album called "Burn" in the 2003/2004 years and didn't official release until 2005. The band hit some snags when Ricky and Michael decided to leave the band.
Year passes...
Finally Adam and Mikey P found a new bassist in Jony Mo. The Jersey kid who also knew Justin "The Juice" Havlovick who would become the bands new drummer. The band (now all over 21) started playing right away. Stupyd Cow played farther and a lot more than they did before...they have a love of playing and drinking.
More time passes...
December 23rd Stupyd Cows friend, and photographer Shannon Popp passed away of an accidental drug overdose. The band will always send their love to Shannons friends and family. Please check her music out in our friends list "Shannon Popp".
The months after Shannons passing, Justin was no longer to be Stupyd Cow's drummer. Michael Kelly had decided to come back and play for the band and still is to this day.
Stupyd Cow is still playing local shows and are going to record their 3rd album called "Jacob (the Donkey)" and is set to be release in ..his year. So keep checking back for updates, new blogs, and really for anything that the band does, because we need "YOU" the fan to help create the Cow Army to put us on the map.
