    Steve's Interests
GeneralExploring new places, people and things. Music and playing the drums for both a jazz big band and an acoustic pop-type act. Thai Food. Making a night of it in some dark corner of a stale fermented club, listening to live jazz and relaxing my mind to the soothing vibrato of a contemplative trumpet. Hiking. Summiting Mountains. Drinking hot peppermint tea. Exploring with friends. Photography. Rollerblading. The internationally ignored frisbee sport, Ultimate. Movies. Enraging the locals. Waterskiing (though it's been too long!) Testing different Gin while playing cribbage with my buddy Poest. And if I haven't mentioned it yet, just friggin EXPLORING something new!

MoviesFor the love of all creatures great and small and fuzzy in the world! When I have time I'll get into this area in more detail, but for starters...anything by IFC or Lions Gate (except their horror division. That area they need to work on). Some of my favorites include: Le Pact de Loupe (Brotherhood of the Wolf), Last of the Mohicans, Gladiator, Sin City, Van Wilder, Underworld, Dune and anything directed by David Lynch, Amelie, The Blade series, Shine, Raising Arizona, Immortal Beloved, The Professional, Rocky Horror Picture Show, 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas and anything directed by Terry Gilliam, Gross Pointe Blank, Magnolia (I actually liked the frog ending), Leaving Los Vegas, The Shipping News, Memento, Clue, Quills, O' Brother Where Art Thou and searching out any DVDs or Videos of the old British science fiction show Dr. Who. It's a long story. I'll explain later...
TelevisionI despise watching T.V. except for OPB, shows like Nova or Austin City Limits. Ever since quality, well-written shows like Wonderfalls and Firefly were cancelled for I Married a Slob Eating Joe Millionaire while Dancing with the American Idol Great Race, I've boycott prime time Television. Plus...why watch somebody else's reality on TV when my own can be so much more fascinating?
BooksCurrently reading 1421. It provides a very solid argument that the great Chinese maritime fleets explored and charted just about every continent on the globe about fifty years before Columbus was even born. I'm finding myself gravitating towards the great explorers of our history as of late. Also digging Christopher Moore's Island of the Sequined Love Nun. Also, the poetry of Whitman and Robert Penn Warren are valued tools in helping me write possible song lyrics.
HeroesMy mom, dad and family for putting up with me, my loud instrument and giving up so much of their lives to raise, inspire and teach both my sister and myself to be the individuals we are today. Anybody can summit a mountain in a few days. Try living with me for 18 years. That's a true test of patience, endurance and sacrifice! :)

CHECK OUT MY LATEST RELEASE WITH QUOTING NAPOLEON!

My life so far is a Kerouac novel for the new millenium. A cosmic martini, one part tragic-comic, one part hopeless romantic, with a bit of chaos shakin' in and garnished with a twist of exhuberent machismo. Whatever the frick that all means! If you're interested in specs: I have to deal with the standard gravitational pull of someone towering just a little over 6 feet off the surface of the planet. My iris refraction is blue-green. I shave my dome and I do an excellent "turn your head and cough." I'm enjoying my time playing and recording as a drummer in a plethora of musical endeavors.
Who I'd like to meet:
People who are not referred to by their family, or any known friend, as a "twit".
