| About Stych |

Stych formed in North Carolina after vocalist/guitarist, Derek Allman and drummer Dustin Allman met with bassist David Diffee to record Derek Allman’s song, "Undeniable".
Previous to this, Derek wrote and recorded several vocal/acoustic guitar tracks over the course of a year in anticipation of forming a band.
"I didn’t know when I would pull a band together, but I knew that I needed to start writing and recording songs to get the ball rolling," he explained.
Derek always had hopes of forming a band with his cousin Dustin Allman. The only obstacle was in locating a bass player who held their same passion for music. That problem was solved when they met David Diffee.
The deal was sealed when the three successfully recorded six of Derek’s songs over the course of a single weekend. This positive experience fueled their ambitions. Sensing success, they agreed to continue writing and recording songs for an entire CD. It wasn’t long after the making of their first album "Drifter" that they returned to the studio to record "Foundations."
Stych’s albums entitled "Drifter" and "Foundations" deliver a mainstream, metal/hard rock sound. Their style varies from the intensely erotic "Deep Inside" to the powerful rock anthems "Before the Horizon" and "Magnetic" to the classical dynamics of "The Words You Say."
Stych has made their mark on the Fayetteville music scene, playing at music venues such as Jester’s Pub and The Rock Shop. While taking a hiatus soon after the release of "Foundations," the band is currently working on a third album. Derek stated in a recent blog, "During the past 10 months we’ve been underground, taking a break to expand our musical knowledge. We wanted to take a long time off to educate ourselves in music styles that we’ve never been familiar with."
The sounds on the third album are expected to be somewhat different from the first two albums. Derek adds, "We are adding new dimensions to our songwriting. While our goal in 2008 is to be more universal in our songs, we will always recognize our roots and strive to satisfy the fans that have been there since the beginning."
