***General Information (english)***
ABOUT STYLBLYTEN: Formed in September 2004. Max and Fred - brothers - worked as a Duo before they formed the Stylblyten. Simon and Fred sang (and still sing) together in the legendary a cappella-quartet "Suns in law" (with their buddies Ron and Chris). When Benji arrived in Berlin after finishing his studies in Jazz in England and Cuba looking for some music projects Stylblyten were complete.
STYLBLYTEN are COSMOPOLITAN - our family roots will lead you to Danmark, England, Scotland, Brasil and the northwest, heart and southeast of Germany.
"Stylblyten" means bloomer (UK) or blomper (US) in german - correctly written "Stilblueten" [which is not correctly at all because one german letter is missing in this program - but pretty close :)] - and stands for the mixing of musical elements and styles without respecting any rules. So we are doing a mixture of * Britpop * Jazz * Indiefolk * Chanson * Gospel * Bossa Nova * with some 1960s/1970s influences. In this profile, you can hear some examples of our music.
Typical "Stylblyten Sound" is: 3 voices singing german (with changing lead vocals), two guitars (always unplugged) and a saxophon (doing the solo stuff in rotation with Max guitar).
At the moment, Stylblyten have a repertoire of about 40 songs and 4 hours of music with more being added every week. Stylblyten are writting their own songs.
We love playing live and our shows often last about 3 hours.
