With 10 years of experience in fashion under her belt and working with major and independent record labels (Sony and Universal), modeling agencies (Elite, Next, and Click), fashion designer – Mychael Knight and Nina’s Couture, Atlanta based artist development enterprise (Artist Factory), celebrities (The Dream ( Mary J. Kim is also author of the book, “Career Diary of a Fashion Stylist: thirty days behind the scenes with a professional”. Career Diary of a Fashion Stylist is a 30-day intimate look at the life of freelance fashion stylist, Kim Maxwell. As a stylist in the fashion and entertainment industry, it describes how Kim entered the field and details of my current journey to build a reputation as a respected and recognized fashion professional in a highly competitive field. Kim provides a wealth of information about key elements of the industry as she gives details of the tools and resources necessary to be a successful fashion stylist. They include points to cover when consulting with client, working with small and large budgets, and how to organize information to produce a creative and successful project. Kim also provides a glossary of terms used in the industry. This is a must-have reference guide for anyone wanting to pursue a career as a fashion stylist in the fashion and entertainment industry.
Kim’s fashion philosophy is based on a unified approach to each individual. By offering grooming and personal appearance tips with a primary focus on wardrobe styling, Kim works with the artist or individual to come up with the best image. Beyond the head turning styles and latest techniques, she meets the demands of her clients. Her mission is to create image that will allow the artist or individual to stand out and be taken notice of.
Kim Maxwell’s self drive, along with her passion, natural talent, and eye for style and trends come easy to this native of Tennessee who has studied fashion since high school and received a B.A. in Fashion, Marketing, and Advertising from Middle Tennessee State University. Kim now is based in Atlanta where she freelances and has opened her own fashion and image consulting company, STYLESbyMAXX. STYLESbyMAXX offers fashion and image consulting for artists or individuals who have a desire to create or change their image.
Being the creative force behind STYLESbyMAXX, Kim describes the styles she creates with one word “JAZZY.” Others describe her style as classic, diverse, and hip, while incorporating the latest trends with a slight edge. “I like to make my clients feel comfortable in what they wear and how they appear to the public, even if it’s out of the ordinary because ‘Image is Everything,’ in this industry. I create styles that are innovative, creative, hip, and trendy which allow clients to feel and be themselves. It’s all about you having that swagger and you wearing the clothes, not the clothes wearing you,” Kim says. When asked what separates her from other stylists, Kim says “I bring out my clients personal styles by dressing them in clothes that bring out their personality while creating an image making them stand out from the rest.

Have you ever wondered how to enter the wonderful world of Fashion Styling?? Recognized celebrity and fashion stylist, Kim Maxwell, author of “Career Diary of a Fashion Stylist”, teaches this six-week thorough introduction to the career.
Course Description
Fashion Styling 101, All You Need to Know About a Career in Fashion Styling is a thorough introduction to the fashion styling career taught by recognized celebrity and fashion stylist, Kim Maxwell, author of "Career Diary of a Fashion Stylist." Let Kim guide you through the ins and outs of the fashion styling career. With factual lists and requirements for the industry, along with personal experiences, she makes the career real for you.
Areas of study include introduction to fashion styling, selection and coordination of clothing and accessories; working on getting wardrobe vendors, learning a stylist/stylist assistant's responsibilities on set and set etiquette, dealing with clients and professionalism, financial management.
The final project will be a mock photo shoot, which will result in having photos for your portfolio.
Course concludes with an optional group conference call giving you an opportunity to communicate with fellow students and instructor.

SOME THINGS ABOUT ME
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kim Maxwell and I am a fashion stylist and personal shopper. What can I say about myself. I work in the fashion and entertainment industry. I consider myself a diverse stylist with a classic approach to style so I like working with all genres of music, actors, actresses, models, and I also work with individuals who want personal shopping services to change their wardrobe and image.
This is for all my people checking out my page that are chasing your dreams and making them happen.
I have been on this journey for going on 10 years and finally getting myself in the door. Now, even though some people have gave me the wrong key to get in the door , gave me the wrong or half ass directions, or hidden the key from me, I have continued to keep doing what I needed to do to get the job done and working my way to the top. A good friend of mine told me if you cannot get through the door, there is always another way to get there , a window or even a backdoor.
This has always been a dream of mine and to all the people who read my page or are looking for advice, inspiration, or a mentor . I have learned through all the blood , sweat, and tears I wouldn't trade my dream for anything. Live your DREAMS and what ever GOD has for u, he has for u and no one can take that away. I am always going to give 110% maybe 150% if all is in order (lol).
Thank U to all my family, friends, and clients who have supported me and keep bringing in that work for me to handle my business. Also thanks to all my peers and wardrobe vendors in this industry. We work together to help each other out. You all are appreciated!!!!!!!!
