Bluesman Mick Stuart originally founded the club in 1999 and he ran it at various different venues in the Styvechale area until early 2007. He moved away from Coventry 18 months ago and since then the club has been in the capable hands of Simon, Paula, Rob and Karen – four of the people who regularly attended the club in Mick’s day.

| About Styvechale Folk Club |

Sty Folk Club - every Sunday night from 8.00pm to 11.00pm at the Ex-Services Club on the corner of Beanfield Ave and Leasowes Ave , Coventry, West Midlands, CV3 6BH.
Who I'd like to meet: At the moment ‘Sty Folk’ runs on a very casual ‘singaround’ or ‘singer’s night’ format ~ with a mix of mainly traditional and contemporary folk songs ~ self-penned songs or tunes ~ blues and also 50’s – 70’s pop . It’s free entry too ! We can have as few as 3 or 4 singing or as many as 20 – it all depends on the night – but whoever comes out on a Sunday night to sing we love it all! Sometimes it’s great to hear eight songs from just a few singers – you get a better view of their musical tastes that way. Equally though it’s great to have two songs from 10 ~ 15 ~ 20 people. It’s all good fun! Since Mick Stuart’s day the function room has been re-furbished and it is much more comfortable and welcoming. No more squeaky screen door. The pool table is out of action every week now ~ so no more off-stage noises in the middle of a quiet song! There is a big car park at the rear of the building ~ cheap beer and welcoming bar staff.
