Subcollisions was born kicking and screaming at a Montreal kitchen party. The group grew into a slightly skewed 10-piece ensemble of good-time cabaret Franglais, shady land-locked sea shanties, and a certain je ne sais quoi. Rita Mitsuko, the McGarrigles and Tigerlillies meet Stompin' Tom, Lhasa and the little rascals.
Gaining rapid momentum, the group played street festivals
in Montreal and Toronto, sundry bars and cafés, and a barn full of unsuspecting villagers. Their songs have been aired on radio CKUT Montreal, CIUT Toronto, CIFA Acadian Radio and CIBL Montreal.
The band played their last show ever on June 20th, 2008, although stay tuned for different projects that will arise separately from the many members of the group. It was a circus bazaar of carnies, contortionists & maestros that pulled you in with enigmatic tales of love, mischief, and mayhem.

Excellent set in Toronto at the Bloor St. Festival this past weekend! You always put on such a fun show and the music sticks to your head (well, your tunes get stuck in my head...). Hope to see you again soon!
fantastically unsettling colour choices. Are the Subcollisions really 7 strong? I can't wait for my phone call on wednesday. If you guys are half as good as your pictures, we are going to have a lot of fun on the 26th of May. Could be one of the best shows of the year. Have a beautiful day!
