Well if you can imagine a kind of cross between all of the above, if not you'll have to come and see us.
SUBGENERATES has been going since around 2006, when Sir Robin arrived to add some beats to Sir Glenneth's and Lord George's meddlings which had been going on for some time before, soon to be joined by Rik O'Mortis who had been in metal band Tantrist with George in the 90's.
Previously Sir Glenneth had played bass in Beggars Opera, argueably Taunton's most succesful band, and after their split was involved with stoner rock band Kelo and death metal band Meat Train. Far from simply playing the bass notes to the melody Sir Glenneth comes up with some quality bass runs and has come up with a lot of the guitar riffs used by SUBGENERATES today.
Since Tantrist's demise due to the drummer's building collection of addictions, Rik O'Mortis has played Guitar with Garden State Cruiser, Moon Moth, new wave indie band Canoe Moose and acoustic outfit Peace River. Rik has an uncanny ability to structure a song, to produce great melodies to George's gruntings and specialises in detuning his E string to provide a different take to SUBGENERATES' riffs.
Sir Robin was previously in 90's indie band Hypnotize and space rock band Datura, and far from your average drummer is very musical and writes most of SUBGENERATES backing tracks including an amazing string section in Fickle Friend, a song about George's wavering sanity. Robin is also the more technical minded of the four, and handles the samples used through the tunes as well as getting SUBGENERATES on the net and coming up with SUBGENERATES' artwork.
Screaming Lord George, after Tantrist, has been involved with several projects moving from metal to an industrial 'N.I.N' style solo project, followed by The 12th Root, a dirty drum and bass outfit and Liquid Kosh, a full-on metal studio escapade. During these adventures he's slowly mastered the art of mixing down tunes in Chaoshead Studios in Somerset where SUBGENERATES reherse and record their stuff.
Hello mate. I hope that you are feeling okay and having a decent Monday. I am slowly getting some energy up. Thankful that Xmas is out the way. Hope that your week is good. All the best for now.
