About Andy Watson

I play the Drums in various bands with varying styles of music. I specialise in playing Zydeco, Blues, reggae, ska, hip-hop; but play pretty much anything really, but Zydeco is my favourite style.

I am currently playing drums for the following bands:

Joe Le Taxi & The Zydeco Band

Z Funk

Hungry Bentley

In January and November 2007 and in August 2008 I got the chance to play drums for Leon Chavis & The Zydeco Flames from Lawtell, Louisiana, USA; who headlined at the Gloucester International Cajun & Zydeco Festival, also at the 7. Internationales Cajun Zydeco Festival in Germany and then at Saulieu Cajun & Zydeco Festival (France) in August 2008.

I have also recently played drums for Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band at the 8th International Cajun & Zydeco festival Germany which was great. Corey has to be one the best Zydeco Accordion players.

I also occasionally play with the B.C. All Stars with Jon Crowe, Gary Potter, Eddy Garty's Blues State........ these guys are some of the best musicians along the mid-wales/shropshire border and it's always an honour to be asked to play with them!
