One chance, one life you're leading, you've gotta live what you believe in. Let 'em see who you really are, Don't Hide!
From the title track of their debut album, "Don't Hide," those are the lyrics that state what Submerged is all about: encouraging others to not give into peer pressure, to stand up for what's right and for your belief in God, and not let people beat you down.
"So many times I've seen my peers give into peer pressure to fit in. They know it's wrong, they know it's not what God wants them to do, but the constant pressure from their 'friends' makes them feel like if they don't cave, their friends won't accept them anymore," states songwriter and guitarist, Caitlin Shea. "It's all about having the strength and faith in God to stand up for what you believe in. In the words of Switchfoot -- 'This is your life, are you who you want to be?'"
"Don't Hide" is the expression of what the band has been through -- rejoicing in the Lord; times of trial; peer pressure; love and loss; and changes in life. With the help of Grammy nominated, Dove award winner Ben Kasica of Skillet, the producer of the album and co-writer of all the songs, and engineer Nick Radovanovic of Acceptance, the band's sound has become defined, and they only continue to grow.
