“[Sub]NOVA have perfected a big-guitar rock sound that fills the room with awesome tones. 'Severance' is tight, powerful and able to break the sound apart to create moments of delicacy amongst the giant guitar driven sections. 'Kerosene Girl' is a grunge-ified smouldering landscape with seriously driving bass guitar and 'Black Soul Monday' is a great opportunity for the band to let rip with the big guitars. It's a bit more edgy for 'Arms Wide Open', more riffy and alternative than the other three tracks, but still an awesome track. It has a solo that sounds like Bushbaby's 'Space Corps' and a chorus that could tear up your speakers.
Sub Nova is a dream combination of a really tight and powerful band with a seriously good singer” –www.intomusic.co.uk
"It's easy to imagine [sub]NOVA filling stadiums. They're tight, polished and deliver a huge sound. Their blistering set is over way too soon" -Jane Kitson, BBC Raw Talent South Yorkshire
“Gaining admirers with every gig they play. It’s easy to see why with their radio-friendly hard rock revolution sound that they are one of the
best new rock bands around right now" -www.soundaloud.com
“A really tight outfit, who base their songs around solid guitar riffs and the singer is blessed with a really strong rock voice.” -Sandman Magazine
"If Sheffield is ever in danger of being over obsessed with observational, angular guitar thrills... This lot can counter with sounds from the beefier side of town" -The Star
"Effortlessly between foundation floundering to deft subtlety and back" -David Dunn
"[sub]NOVA's live effectiveness solid production and songs that smoulder to a richly woven conclusion. Gary Walker's vocals are charismatic in a often hefty way; they have a quality and range that can appeal to the "Dark clad brigade" as well as ANY radio playlist" -The Star
"Sheffields [sub]NOVA sound like a home-grown musical monster, somewhere between Audioslave- The Sterophonics with a hint of Jeff Buckley. With their gravely vocals, drop tuned guitars and distinctive riffs. Kerosene Girl and Porcelain are very impressive showpeices" -Sandman Magazine
"You see band every now and again that you KNOW are just a step away from being signed BIG TIME! I reckon for [sub]NOVA it just a matter of a short time" -Mentholman Promotions
"[sub]NOVA are very good indeed; their vocalist has an incredible voice similar to that of Chris Cornell and the music has a Tool/Audioslave type sound. Rampaging power-chords and exhilarating lead solos both create a big, fat and consistently pleasing sound that is only ever significantly enhanced by the vocals. Go to myspace.com/subnovaband to hear some for yourself and... let me guarantee if you like this genre you will like [sub]NOVA." -No Tile Mag- Leeds
"[sub]NOVA have the potential for radio friendly rock songs ranging from melodic ballads to big riffy rock machines. They have already played on Kerrang and BBC Radio. In March 2007 their song "Kerosene Girl" was chosen by Music Week magazine for inclusion on a covermount CD "Yorkshire at Midem" Regular live work around the UK sees a growing fanbase with plans for widespread tours and their debut album release in 2009" -Stunted Records & GAWE Productions
