Influences
original Jamaican dub pioneers and musicians, the rockers and the producers who took the studio and mixing board and turned them into instruments. musicians in all genres who take a songs inspiration as far as possible for as long as possible never returning to the same places for long.
Sounds Like
a completely live version of DUB music, played, mixed and tweeked out with effects live on the spot. no song is ever played, recorded or mixed the same way twice. the bass is loud, the drums are meaty and the melodies flow high above the riddims....
Sub Oslo formed in 1996 for the sole purpose of bringing a true live DUB experience to audiences. With six musicians on stage playing and mostly improvising dub music while a seventh member adds live effects and mixing from behind the sound system and an eighth member displays live visual imagery over the musicians on stage. No song or show is ever played the same way twice.
