SubPow is a satirical jab at the corruption on Capitol Hill, but it is also a fully realized, carefully designed action game.
It is our little contribution to the public discourse on the mess in Washington. Ultimately optimistic in outlook, whimsical in tone, and (charitably) non-partisan, it non-the-less carries the message that the Politicians must be held to account for their abuses of the public trust.
In play you are an assistant special prosecutor who confronts an array of characters on the Hill, serving subpoenas on Senators, Congressmen, Lobbyists, Sycophants, and Toadies. The goal is to dry up the money, sort out the politicians, and save the republic. Winners get handsome award certificates suitable for framing.
We have no realistic prospect for recovering the thousands of hours and dollars we spent on this project, but if we can get the word out, drive traffic to the site, and people like it, then maybe we can coax some of them into thinking while they are being entertained, and then just maybe some will look up from our little game and realize that they could have some say in the big game too. Admittedly this is a pretty slender thread upon which to hang the future of the greatest democratic republic the world has ever known, but its all we at NoEvil have come up with so far...
