Wow, my turntable has been out of action for so long I almost forgot how great vinyl was. Well, its finally been fixed and what a way to welcome it back with the latest 5, song recording from Subsanity! First, let's go back in time a few years, when Gametwo put out the smashing, "He's No Good to me Dead" comp disc. First of all it was one of the best comp discs to ever grace my collection, second of all it introduced me to Oklahoma City's mighty Subsanity, a band who effortlessly combined sludge, grind and thrash into one of the coolest sounds I've ever heard. Years, passed and I hadn't heard a peep out of these guys, their site seemed to disappear and I was afraid all hope was lost, until Gametwo announced this release, and finally I have a copy in my hands! This 7" shreds, right from the opening blast of "Logic Plague", to the ripping doomed out cover of Medieval's "The Plague". This release finds Subsanity picking up right where they left off, on the HNGTMD comp and sharpening their sound to a fine point that just goes right for the jugular. The songs on this one, are a lot more grinding and thrashy than their last batch of tunes with a lot of blazing thrash riffs and intense blasts with those awesome, snarling vocals right up front where they should be! I think my favorite track is probably "Exaction of Lobotomy", where they really show off all of the dynamics they possess. This track in particular goes from the fast paced attack of the songs on the first side, to some chunkier sludgy riffs and even a shredding solo in the last part of the song! Fucking killer is all I have to say. This 7" just completely blew me away and ended my worrying about Subsanity's whereabouts for the past couple of years. I just hope, we don't have to wait that long, for a follow up. Excellent production and layout, round out this top notch 7" from Gametwo, who continue putting out some of the best stuff around. Highly recommended to all sludge, grind and thrash fans out there.
